After leaving the Hospital de la Croix, the Holy Father transferred by car to the location of the explosion at the Port of Beirut for a silent prayer.
On arrival, the Pope was welcomed by the Prime Minister, and then paused briefly for a moment of silent prayer in front of the monument commemorating the victims of the explosion of the Port of Beirut, where he placed a wreath of flowers and lit a votive lamp.
The Holy Father subsequently greeted some relatives of the victims and some survivors of the explosion.
At the end, Pope Leo XIV transferred by car to the Beirut Waterfront for the Holy Mass.
