The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Yohanes Hans Monteiro, of the clergy of Larantuka, until now lecturer in liturgy at the Ledalero Institute of Philosophy and Creative Technology and formator at the Saint Petrus interdiocesan major seminary in Ritapiret, Indonesia, as bishop of the diocese of Larantuka, Indonesia.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Yohanes Hans Monteiro was born on 15 April 1971 in Larantuka, Indonesia. After entering the Santo Domingo Minor Seminary of Hokeng, he continued his studies at the Catholic Philosophical Institute of Ledalero, Indonesia, subsequently carrying out a pastoral apprenticeship in the parish of Saint Yoseph in Lewotobi.
He was ordained a priest on 14 July 1999.
After ordination, he first held the role of teacher in the minor seminary of Santo Domingo in Hokeng (1999-2004). He was awarded a licentiate and doctorate in liturgy at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Vienna, Austria (2005-2018), and went on to serve as parish vicar at Franz-von-Assisi-Kirche, Mexikoplatz, and Maria Himmelfahrt in Bad Deutsch-Altenburd, Vienna (2005-2018), teacher of liturgy at the Ledalero Institute of Philosophy and Creative Technology and formator at the Saint Petrus interdiocesan major seminary in Ritapiret, diocese of Maumere (since 2018), and member of the Commission for the Liturgy of the Indonesian Episcopal Conference (since 2022).
Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, India
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Rabindra Kumar Ranasingh, of the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, India, until now dean of the Khristo Jyoti Mahavidyalaya (Regional Theological Institute) in Sason, as auxiliary bishop of the same metropolitan archdiocese, assigning him the titular see of Thuburbo Majus.

Msgr. Rabindra Kumar Ranasingh was born on 9 July 1972 in Kasabasa, in the metropolitan archdiocese of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, India. He studied philosophy at the Papal Seminary in Pune and theology at the Khristo Jyoti Mahavidyalaya in Sason. He was awarded a Master of Arts from Berhampur University in Bhanja Bihar, a licentiate in canon law from Saint Peter’s Pontifical Institute in Bangalore, and a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome.
He was ordained a priest on 18 March 2001 for the metropolitan archdiocese of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar.
He has held the following offices: deputy parish priest of Saint Paul Catholic Church in Balliguda (2001-2004), bursar and lecturer at Saint Paul’s Regional Seminary in Padanpur (2004-2007), diocesan director for youth and promoter of vocations (2010-2012), rector of Saint Paul’s Minor Seminary in Balliguda (2012-2017), professor at the Khristo Jyoti Mahavidyalaya in Sason (2017-2018), and to date, dean of the Khristo Jyoti Mahavidyalaya (Regional Theological Institute) in Sason.
