Today, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in Audience the Prime Minister of Hungary, His Excellency Mr. Viktor Orbán, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial discussions held at the Secretariat of State, the sound bilateral relations and appreciation for the commitment of the Catholic Church in promoting the social development and wellbeing of the Hungarian community were emphasized, with particular attention to the role of the family, the formation and future of young people, and the importance of protecting the most vulnerable Christian communities.

Ample space was also devoted to European issues, with particular attention to the conflict in Ukraine, and to the situation in the Middle East.
