On Monday 27 October 2025, His Holiness Mar Awa III, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, will pay a visit to the Holy Father. It will be the first official visit of the Catholicos-Patriarch to Pope Leo XIV.

The Catholicos-Patriarch will be accompanied by members of the Joint Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Assyrian Church of the East, which during these days in Rome is pursuing a new phase of dialogue on the liturgy in the life of the Church.
