This morning, 13 October, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the President of the Republic of Chile, His Excellency Mr. Gabriel Boric Font, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks, held at the Secretariat of State, satisfaction was expressed for the existing good relations between the Holy See and Chile. Emphasis was placed on the valuable contribution offered by the Church to the country in various fields, and several aspects of the Chilean socio-economic situation were addressed, with special attention to the fight against poverty, migratory phenomena and ethical questions.
