Today, the Holy Father Leo XIV received in audience, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the President of the Republic of Colombia, His Excellency Mr. Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego, who subsequently met with His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks held at the Secretariat of State, satisfaction was expressed for the good relations between Colombia and the Holy See, highlighting the positive and lasting collaboration between Church and State in support of peace and reconciliation processes.

The conversation continued with an exchange of views on the socio-political situation in Colombia and the region, with particular attention to the challenges linked to security, migration and climate change.
