Message of the Holy Father

Dear brothers and sisters of the dioceses of Grosseto and Pitigliano-Sovana-Orbetello, welcome!

I greet your new bishop, Msgr. Bernardino Giordano, along with every one of you, pilgrims to Rome for the Jubilee. May the passage through the Holy Door renew everyone in the faith, so as to walk united, pastor and flock.

I address a special thought to those among you who are sick and elderly: let us live this time of trial contemplating the Lord Jesus on the cross, source of consolation and salvation.

Faced with the difficulties we see in the world and that we feel in our hearts, I urge you to persevere in prayer, bearing witness every day to that hope that makes us the salt of the earth.

I entrust you to the intercession of the Virgin Mary and your Patron Saints, and I bless you all from my heart. Please, do not forget to pray for me.
