Appointment of bishop of the dioceses of Huesca and Jaca, Spain

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Pedro Aguado Cuesta, Sch.P., until now Superior General of the Scolopi, as bishop of the dioceses of Huesca and Jaca, Spain.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Pedro Aguado Cuesta was born in Bilbao on 26 June 1957. He was ordained a priest on 23 June 1982 for the Order of Poor Clerics Regular of the Mother of God of the Pious Schools (Scolopi).

He has held the following offices: provincial pastoral assistant, provincial superior of Vasconia, provincial of Emmaus; since 2021, superior general of the Scolopi for a third term; and since 2022, chair of the Education Commission of the Union of Superiors General and consultor of the Dicastery for Culture and Education.
