Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Belarus

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Ignazio Ceffalia, nunciature counsellor, as apostolic nuncio in Belarus, at the same time elevating him to the titular see of Fiorentino, with the dignity of Archbishop.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Ignazio Ceffalia was born in Palermo on 28 April 1975. He was ordained a priest on 6 August 2003, and incardinated in the eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi.

He graduated in canon law.

He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 July 2006, and has served in the apostolic nunciature in Ecuador, Thailand, the Permanent Mission to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, the Section for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Secretariat of State, and finally in Venezuela.

He knows Albanian, French, English and Spanish.

Appointment of defender of the bond of the Tribunal of the Roman Rota

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Francesco Ibba, until now substitute defender of the bond of the Tribunal of the Roman Rota, as defender of the bond at the same Tribunal.
