This morning, the Holy Father Francis received in audience His Excellency Mr. Timur Primbetov, ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.

The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

His Excellency Mr. Timur Primbetov was born on 17 September 1973, and is married with a son.

He received his academic formation at the Kazakh State National University named after Al-Farabi (1996).

He has held the following offices: attaché, then third Secretary, Department for Europe and the Americas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-1999); third Secretary, then second Secretary, Embassy in Spain (1999-2004); chief expert, inspector, chief of the Protocol Sector of the President of the Republic (2004-2008); deputy chief of Protocol of the President of the Republic (2008-2018); minister-advisor, embassy in the Russian Federation (2018.2019); ambassador in Latvia (2019-2023); and ambassador in Mexico (2023-2024).
