Appointment of coadjutor bishop of Anápolis, Brazil
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Waldemar Passini Dalbello of Luziânia, as coadjutor bishop of Anápolis, Brazil.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Waldemar Passini Dalbello was born on 6 June 1966 in Anápolis. He attended courses in philosophy and theology at the major seminary of Brasília, and was awarded a licentiate in biblical sciences from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He also has a degree in electronic engineering.
He was ordained a priest on 3 December 1994, for the metropolitan archdiocese of Brasília.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Nossa Senhora de Fatíma in Sobradinho – DF and of the Cathedral of Brasília; formator, spiritual director, professor of sacred scripture and bursar of the major seminary of Brasília; spiritual director of the Commission for New Evangelization; rector of the São João Maria Vianney interdiocesan seminary and professor of sacred scripture in the Santa Cruz Institute of Philosophy and Theology in Goiânia – GO.
On 30 December 2009 he was appointed titular bishop of Membressa and auxiliary of Goiânia, receiving episcopal ordination on 19 March 2010. In 2011, he was administrator of the metropolitan archdiocese of Brasília. On 3 December 2014 he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Luziânia, and on 12 July 2017 he became bishop of Luziânia.
Bishop Dalbello has been a member of the following Episcopal Commissions within the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil: Commission for Ordained Ministries and Consecrated Life (2011-2015), Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith (2015-2019), and Commission for Biblical-Catechetical Animation (2019-2023). From 2015 to 2019, he was also a member of the Department of Mission and Spirituality in the Latin American Episcopal Council (C.E.L.A.M.), representing the Southern Cone.
Since 2019, Bishop Waldemar Passini Dalbello has served as president of the Centre-West Region of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, in his second term, also supervising the activities of the Regional Commission for Biblical-Catechetical Animation.
Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Taipei, Taiwan
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Peter Chao Yung-Chi, of the clergy of the diocese of Chiayi, until now episcopal chancellor and parish priest of the Cathedral of Saint John in Chiayi, as auxiliary bishop of Taipei, Taiwan, assigning him the titular see of Rusgunie.

Msgr. Peter Chao Yung-Chi was born on 28 March 1973 in Taichung City, Taiwan. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and in theology at the Saint Robert Bellarmine Faculty and a licentiate in religious studies from the Department of Religious Studies of Fu Jen Catholic University.
He was ordained a priest on 3 February 2001, for the diocese of Chiayi.
He has held the following offices: parish priest of the Cathedral of Saint John, Chiayi (2001-2002), deputy parish priest of Our Lady of Sorrows, Chiayi (2002-2003), vice rector of the regional seminary of Taiwan (2003-2015), parish priest of Immaculate Conception and of Saint Catherine, Dalin (2015-2022), and chaplain of the Anna Nursing Home and the Chung-Jen Junior College of Nursing, Health Science and Management, Chiayi (2016-2022). Since 2016 he has served as chancellor of the diocese of Chiayi and, since 2023, parish priest of the Cathedral of Saint John, Chiayi.
