This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the President of the Republic of Panama, His Excellency Mr. José Raúl Mulino Quintero, was received in audience by His Holiness Pope Francis. He went on to meet with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.
During the cordial talks, held at the Secretariat of State, satisfaction was expressed for the good relations between Panama and the Holy See. The parties then focused on the precious contribution the Church offers to the country.
Some themes of common interest were then touched upon, such as care for the common home, migration and other current socio-political issues in the country and the region, confirming the mutual commitment to foster mutual cooperation for the good of the Panamanian people.
