Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Papua New Guinea and in the Solomon Islands
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Maurizio Bravi, until now Holy See Permanent Observer at the World Tourism Organization (W.T.O.) in Rome, at the same time elevating him to the titular see of Tolentino, with the dignity of Archbishop.
Curriculum vitae
Archbishop-elect Maurizio Bravi was born in Capriate San Gervasio, Bergamo, on 20 July 1962. He was ordained a priest on 21 June 1986, and incardinated in the diocese of Bergamo.
He graduated in canon law.
He entered the Holy See Diplomatic Service on 1 July 1995, and served in the Pontifical Representations in the Dominican Republic and Argentina, in the Section for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Secretariat of State, and subsequently in the Apostolic Nunciatures in France and Canada.
He was appointed Holy See Permanent Observer at the World Tourism Organization (W.T.O.) on 27 February 2016.
He knows English, French and Spanish.
