Appointment of bishop of the diocese of Bunbury, Australia

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. George Kolodziej, S.D.S., as bishop of the diocese of Bunbury, Australia.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. George Kolodziej, S.D.S., was born on 17 May 1968 in Dobra, Poland. He was awarded a master’s degree in theology and in pastoral care / psychotherapy, and a postgraduate diploma in studies on addiction.

He was ordained a priest on 28 May 1994.

He has held the following offices: pastoral activity in the metropolitan archdiocese of Perth and in the diocese of Bunbury, West Australia (1994), parish vicar of Saint Anthony in Greenmount (1996), chaplin of Chisholm Catholic College (1997), vice superior of the Salvatorian Region of Australi (1999), chaplain at Saint Leo’s Catholic College (2001-2008), deputy parish priest in the parishes of Pymble (2001-2003), East Gosford (2003-2008), parish priest of Pittwater (2008-2018), spiritual father at the Salvatorian Formation House of Melbourne (2017), superior of the Salvatorians in Australia (since 2018), and chaplain of Catholic Education Western Australia (since 2019).

He is currently a council member of Catholic Religious Australia, of the Council of Priests of the metropolitan archdiocese of Perth, and of various consultation committees, including Catholic Youth Ministry, Catholic School Parents and Clergy Wellbeing. He directs the Salvatorian Spiritual Centre.
