Today the Holy Father Francis received in audience His Excellency Mr. Peter Pellegrini, President of the Slovak Republic, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial meeting, which took place at the Secretariat of State, reference was made to the sound bilateral relations, highlighting the contribution of the Church for the benefit of Slovak society.

Finally, attention turned to the international context, with particular attention to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
