The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Gobezayehu Getachew Yilma, until now vicar delegate of the apostolic vicariate of Meki and executive director of diocesan Caritas, as vicar apostolic of Awasa, Ethiopia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Gobezayehu Getachew Yilma was born on 14 December 1978 in Dodola, Bale Zone, in the region of Oromia, in Ethiopia. He studied agriculture at the Jimma University of Agriculture and philosophy and theology at the Capuchin Franciscan Institute in Addis Ababa. He holds a diploma in philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts in theology from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome.
He was ordained a priest on 16 January 2005.
After ordination, he held the roles of secretary to the vicar apostolic of Meki and youth coordinator (2004-2005), and deputy secretary general, then secretary general, of the Catholic Secretariat of Meki (2006-2009). He was awarded a master’s degree in development studies from the Kimmage Development Studies Centre in Dublin, and a doctorate in theology specializing in Catholic social teaching from Saint Patrick’s Pontifical University of Maynooth (2009-2015). After returning to Ethiopia, since 2016 he has served as vicar delegate of the apostolic vicariate of Meki and executive director of diocesan Caritas (Meki Catholic Secretariat).

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Étienne Guillet, of the clergy of the diocese of Versailles, until now parish priest of Mantes-la Jolie, as bishop of Saint-Denis, France.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Étienne Guillet was born on 28 October 1976 in Abbeville, in the Department of the Somme, in the diocese of Amiens.
He was awarded a degree from the Ecole des hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord, entered the Seminary, and was ordained a priest on 25 June 2006 for the diocese of Versailles.
After ordination, he held the offices of vicar for the parishes of the Mantes-Sud group and head of youth pastoral care for the Mantes-la-Jolie deanery (2007) and chaplain at Porcheville Juvenile Prison (2008). He was awarded a licentiate in theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris (2008), and went on to serve as vicar of the Houilles and Carrières-sur-Seine Parish Group and head of the Diocesan Formation Service (2012); parish priest of Saint-Georges, member of the Episcopal Council, chaplain of the Sainte-Marie School and head of the Public Education Chaplaincy in Trappes (2015). He is currently parish priest of Mantes-la-Jolie and episcopal vicar for charity and mission.
