This morning, Thursday 14 November 2024, the Prime Minister of Barbados, Her Excellency Ms. Mia Amor Mottley, was received in audience by His Holiness Pope Francis in the Vatican Apostolic Palace. She subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Msgr. Mirosław Wachowski, Under-Secretary for Relations with States.

During the cordial talks, which took place at the Secretariat of State, satisfaction was expressed for the good relations between Barbados and the Holy See. The discussion then turned to some themes of mutual interest, such as care for the common home and the effects of climate change, as well as current socio-political issues in the country and the region.

The meeting concluded with confirmation of the mutual commitment to promoting the common good of the people of Barbados.
