The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Itabuna, Brazil, presented by Bishop Carlos Alberto dos Santos.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop João Gilberto de Moura as bishop of Lins, Brazil, transferring him from the see of Jardim.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop João Gilberto de Moura was born on 21 November 1963 in Ituiutaba, in the diocese of the same name, in the State of Minas Gerais. He carried out his studies in philosophy at the major seminary of the diocese of Patos de Minas in Araxá-MG, and in theology at the Centro de Estudos da Arquidiocese de Ribeirão Preto-SP (CEARP).
He received priestly ordination on 10 December 1995, and was incardinated in the diocese of Ituiutaba.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Cathedral, rector of the minor seminary, ecclesiastical assistant of the Serra movement, diocesan coordinator of vocational pastoral care, representative of presbyters, parish priest of Cristo Rei in Centralina-MG and of São Francisco de Assis in Ituiutaba-MG, judicial vicar, diocesan chancellor, vicar general, diocesan administrator, diocesan bursar, and member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors.
On 3 July 2013 he was appointed bishop of Jardim, and received episcopal ordination the following 6 September.
