Appointment of bishop of Gospić-Senj, Croatia
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Marko Medo, of the clergy of the Military Ordinary in Croatia, until now vicar general of the same Ordinariate, as bishop of Gospić-Senj, Croatia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Marko Medo was born on 10 March 1972 in Strupnić, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He entered the minor seminary of the Third Regular Order of Saint Francis, at the convent of the religious community of Zagreb. After studying philosophy and theology at the Faculty of Theology in Zagreb, he was ordained a priest on 27 June 1998 in Zagreb.
After ordination, he was awarded a licentiate in pastoral theology at the Redemptor Hominis Institute of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, and held various pastoral offices within the religious institute to which he belongs, also participating in the governance of his Franciscan province. He also served as military chaplain at the chaplaincy of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb (2011-2018). On 2 November 2015 he was incardinated in the Military Ordinariate in Croatia, and on 27 march 2018 he was appointed vicar general of the Military Ordinariate in Croatia.
