The Holy Father has appointed Bishop José Adolfo Larregain, O.F.M. as coadjutor archbishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Corrientes, Argentina, transferring him from the office of auxiliary bishop of the same ecclesiastical circumscription.

Curriculum vitae

Archbishop-elect José Adolfo Larregain, O.F.M., was born on 3 April 1966 in Adolfo González Chávez, in the province of Buenos Aires. He was ordained a priest on 19 March 2004 and incardinated in the Order of Friars Minor. He was awarded a degree in pastoral theology from the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires.

He has held various roles in several areas of Argentina where the Franciscan communities are present: Rio Cuarto, Salta, Lomás de Mariló and Moreno.

On 21 March 2020 he was appointed titular bishop of Mauriana and auxiliary of Corrientes, receiving episcopal ordination the following 29 June.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Dennis Spies, of the clergy of Joliet in Illinois, United States of America, until now episcopal vicar for the clergy, as auxiliary of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Cenculiana.

Curriculum vitae

The Reverend Dennis Spies was born on 5 March 1968 in Clifton, in the diocese of Joliet in Illinois. He attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in agriculture (1990). He subsequently carried out his ecclesiastical studies at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake, Mundelein.

He was ordained a priest on 1 June 2002 for the diocese of Joliet in Illinois.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Walter, Roselle (2002-2005), parish priest of Saint Liborius, Steger (2005-2016), and formator at the Mundelein Seminary (2016-2024). He is currently vicar for the clergy.
