Appointment of auxiliary bishops of Łódź, Poland
The Holy Father has appointed the following as auxiliary bishops of the metropolitan archdiocese of Łódź, Poland: the Reverend Fr. Piotr Kleszcz, O.F.M. Conv., until now parish priest of Our Lady of the Angels Łódź, assigning him the titular see of Aquae Albae in Byzacena, and the Reverend Fr. Zbigniew Daniel Wołkowicz, of the clergy of the same metropolitan archdiocese and formator in the major seminary, assigning him the titular see of Vassinassa.
Curriculum vitae of Piotr Kleszcz, O.F.M. Conv.
Msgr. Piotr Kleszcz, O.F.M. Conv., was born on 8 June 1967 in Łódź. After his high school examination in 1986, he entered the novitiate of the Conventual Franciscans in Smardzewice.
He received priestly ordination on 29 May 1993 in Łódź-Łagiewniki.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint John the Baptist, Łódź-Łagiewniki (1993-1995), parish vicar of Our Lady of the Angels, Łódź (1995-1996 e 1997-2016), and parish vicar of Our Lady of Częstochowa, Boston, United States of America (1996-1997). He is currently parish priest of Our Lady of the Angels in Łódź.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Zbigniew Daniel Wołkowicz
Msgr. Zbigniew Daniel Wołkowicz was born on 14 January 1970 in Poddębice.
He was ordained a priest in Łódź on 8 June 1996.
After ordination, he was awarded a licentiate in spiritual theology at the Catholic John Paul II University, Lublin (2000) and a doctorate at the Sophia University Institute, Loppiano (2012-2014). He has held the roles of parish vicar of Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Widawa (1996-1998), spiritual father of the major seminary of Łódź (1998-2002), and provided service at the International Centre of Spirituality Vinea mea of the Focolare Movement in Loppiano and Rocca di Papa (2012-2019). He went on to serve as spiritual father of the National Seminary for Adult Vocations in Łódź (2019-2021), and since 2021, formator responsible for students in the preparatory year in the major seminary of Łódź. He is also a member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors.
