Appointment of papal legate for the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress

The Holy Father has appointed His Eminence Cardinal Baltazar Enrique Porras Cardozo, archbishop emeritus of Caracas, as papal legate for the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress, to be celebrated in Quito, on the 150th anniversary of the consecration of Ecuador to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, from 8 to 15 September 2024, the latter being the Sunday on which the “Statio Orbis” will be held.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Xuân Lôc, Vietnam

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Dominic Nguyên Tuan Anh, until now vicar general of the diocese of Xuân Lôc, Vietnam, and professor at Saint Joseph Major Seminary, as auxiliary bishop of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Thimida Regia.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Dominic Nguyên Tuan Anh was born on 9 April 1972 in Tam Hiệp, in the diocese of Xuân Lôc. He studied philosophy and theology at Saint Joseph Major Seminary in Thành-Phô Hô Chí Minh. He was ordained a priest on 30 September 2005 for the diocese of Xuân Lôc.

After ordination, he was awarded a licentiate in moral theology from the Institut Catholique de Paris, France (2006-2013), and went on to serve as professor at Saint Joseph Major Seminary, Xuân Lôc (2013-2015). Following his studies in moral theology at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines (2015-2020), he held the roles of vicar general of the diocese of Xuân Lôc and professor at Saint Joseph Major Seminary (since 2021).

 

Appointment of secretary general of the Pontifical Missionary Childhood

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Sr. Inés Paulo Albino, A.S.C., counsellor of the Institute of the Sisters Adorers of the Blood of Christ, as secretary general of the Pontifical Missionary Childhood.

Curriculum vitae

Sr. Inés Paulo Albino was born on 25 April 1969 in Bula, Guinea-Bissau, and gave her religious vows in the Institute of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ on 14 September 1997. She was awarded a licentiate in biblical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. She formerly served as pastoral head of the Santa Maria de Mattias parish in Ingoré, and director of the National Directorate of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Guinea-Bissau. She has worked in the fields of evangelization, catechesis, teaching and the youth apostolate. Since 2022 she has served as counsellor and bursar of the Italian Region of her religious Institute.
