Appointment of under-secretary of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Tuomo T. Vimpari, until now nunciature counsellor at the apostolic nunciature in Romania and Moldavia, as under-secretary of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts.

Curriculum vitae

The Reverend Msgr. Tuomo T. Vimpari was born on 29 August 1968 in Nokia, Finland, and was ordained a priest on 22 May 1999 for the diocese of Helsinki. He was awarded a degree in political sciences from the University of Helsinki, and a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. In his diocese he has held the role, among others, of vicar general. On 1 July 2006, after attending courses at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, he entered the Holy See diplomatic service, and went on to serve in the Pontifical Representations in Ukraine, Germany, India and Nigeria, and in the Section for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State. He is currently nunciature counsellor at the apostolic nunciature in Romania and Moldavia.
