Appointment of bishop of Ocaña, Colombia

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Orlando Olave Villanoba as bishop of Ocaña, Colombia, transferring him from the diocese of Tumaco.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Orlando Olave Villanoba was born on 28 January 1969 in Barrancabermeja, Colombia. He carried out his studies in philosophy at the major seminary of Bucaramanga and in theology at the San Carlos Borromeo Seminary of San Gil, and specialized in youth pastoral care at the Theological Institute for Latin America. He was awarded a licentiate in theology with specialization in youth pastoral care and catechesis from the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome.

He received priestly ordination on 5 December 1998, and was incardinated in the diocese of Barrancabermeja.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Santísima Trinidad and chaplain of the Madre de la Esperanza College, Sabana de Torres; parish priest of Jesús María, Barrancabermeja; chaplain of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús College and of the San Pedro Claver Seminary, Barrancabermeja; parish vicar of El Señor de los Milagros, Barrancabermeja; coordinator of the diocesan Youth Pastoral Commission; administrator of the La Sagrada Família parish, Barrancabermeja; diocesan director for Catechesis; director of the diocesan work of the San Pedro Claver Seminary; parish priest of La Inmaculada Cathedral and diocesan vicar for pastoral care.

He was appointed bishop of Tumaco on 18 March 2017, and received episcopal consecration the following 6 May.

 

Appointment of bishop of Juazeiro, Brazil

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Valdemir Vicente Andrade Santos as bishop of the diocese of Juazeiro, Brazil, transferring him from the titular see of Castabala and the office of auxiliary of Fortaleza.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Valdemir Vicente Andrade Santos was born on 5 January 1973 in Aracaju, in the archdiocese of the same name, in the State of Sergipe.

He carried out his studies in philosophy in the seminary of Aracaju, and was awarded a licentiate in theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome.

On 24 August he received priestly ordination and was incardinated in the archdiocese of Aracaju.

He has held the following offices: parish priest of São Francisco de Assis, Nossa Senhora de Fátima and Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, Aracaju; parish administrator of Nossa Senhora da Soledade, Aracaju; rector of the minor seminary; teacher at the minor seminary; chancellor of the Curia; and vicar general. On 11 July 2018 he was appointed titular bishop of Castabala and auxiliary of Fortaleza, receiving episcopal ordination the following 24 August.
