Appointment of bishop of Davenport, U.S.A.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Dennis G. Walsh, of the clergy of the diocese of Toledo in America, until now parish priest of Saint John the Evangelist in Delphos, Ohio, as bishop of Davenport, United States of America.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Dennis G. Walsh was born on 16 July 1965 in Lima, Ohio, in the diocese of Toledo in America. After entering the Province of Baltimore of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Saint Alphonsus College in Suffield, Connecticut, and a Master of Divinity from Washington Theological College.

He was ordained a priest on 27 May 1992 for the Redemptorists, and incardinated on 19 July 2000 in the diocese of Toledo in America.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Michael in Baltimore (1992-1994), Immaculate Conception in New York (1994-1998) and Saint Mary in Sandusky, Ohio (1998-2002), parish priest of Saint John in Defiance (2002-2007), Saint Patrick of Heatherdowns in Toledo (2007-2015), Saint John the Evangelist in Delphos (since 2015), Saint John the Baptist in Landeck (since 2015), and Saint Patrick in Spencerville (since 2016), and member of the College of Consultors (2006-2016; since 2017).

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Scott E. Bullock, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Dubuque, until now parish priest of Saint Edward in Waterloo, Iowa, as bishop of Rapid City, United States of America.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Scott E. Bullock was born on 26 October 1963 in Royal Oak, Michigan, in the archdiocese of Detroit. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the General Motors Institute in Flint, he carried out his ecclesiastical studies at Saint John’s University, Collegeville, and at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He was subsequently awarded a licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America in Washington.

He was ordained a priest on 22 June 1991 for the archdiocese of Dubuque.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Matthew in Cedar Rapids (1991-1994) and Saint Edward in Waterloo (1994-1996), faculty member of Columbus High School in Waterloo (1994-1996), judge at the Tribunal (since 1997), associate director and then director of seminarians (1997-2012), rector of the Saint Pius X Seminary in Dubuque (2003-2014), judicial vicar (2010-2020), parish priest of Nativity in Dubuque (2011-2014), and parish priest of Saint Edward in Waterloo (since 2014).
