Resignation and appointment of bishop of Tui-Vigo, Spain
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Tui-Vigo, Spain, presented by Bishop Luis Quinteiro Fiuza.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Antonio José Valín Valdés, until now vicar general of Mondoñedo-Ferrol, as bishop of Tui-Vigo, Spain.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Antonio José Valín Valdés was born in Ribadeo, diocese of Mondoñedo-Ferrol, on 24 February 1968.
He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in theology and a masters in Christian communication from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, and served as formator and professor in the Seminary of Mondoñedo.
He was ordained a priest on 14 February 1993.
He has held the following offices: parish priest of San Sadurniño, director of the Residencia Universitaria de la Domus Ecclesiae de Ferrol and rector of the minor seminary of Mondoñedo (1999), spiritual director of the major seminary (2006), parish priest of Santiago de Foz and other parish communities (2012), archpriest of Mondoñedo (2012-2019), secretary for pastoral care (2015), member of the College of Consultors (2012-2020), episcopal vicar for evangelization (2017), canon of the Cathedral (2018), member of the Pastoral Council (2019), vicar general and moderator of the Curia (since 2019), diocesan administrator (2020), and member of the Presbyteral Council (2021).

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Paulus Budi Kleden, S.V.D., until now superior general of the Society of the Divine Word (S.V.D.) (Verbites), as metropolitan archbishop of Ende, Indonesia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Kleden was born on 16 November 1965 in Waibalun, diocese of Larantuka, Indonesia. After attending the minor seminary of Santo Domingo in Hokeng, he entered the Verbite novitiate in Ledalero. He studied philosophy at the San Paulus Major Seminary and theology at the Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule St. Gabriel in Mödling, Austria.
He gave his solemn vows on 15 August 1992, and was ordained a priest on 19 May 1993.
After ordination, he first held the role of parish vicar in Auw, diocese of Basel, Switzerland (1993-1996). He was awarded a doctorate in dogmatic theology from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Germany (1996-2000), and went on to serve as lecturer in theology at the major seminary of Ledalero, Maumere (2001-2012), member of the Provincial Council (2005-2008) and member of the General Council of the S.V.D. (2012-2018). Since 2018 he has been superior general of the same Congregation.
