Appointment of bishop of Duitama-Sogamoso, Colombia
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Edgar Aristizábal Quintero, until now bishop of Yopal, as bishop of the diocese of Duitama-Sogamoso, Colombia.

Bishop Edgar Aristizábal Quintero was born on 2 December in 1965 in Cartago, Colombia.
He carried out his studies in philosophy in the major seminaries of Cali and Cartago, and in theology at the major seminaries of Manizales and Cartago.
He was ordained a priest on 7 December 1990 for the diocese of Cartago.
He was awarded a licentiate in biblical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and has served as parish priest in various parishes, rector of the Ecce Homo Shrine in Ricaurte, Colombia, professor and rector of the minor seminary of Cartago, rector of the major seminary of Cartago, and director of the Department for Doctrine of the Colombian Episcopal Conference.
He was elected titular bishop of Castra Galbae and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Medellín on 4 May 2011, receiving episcopal ordination the following 4 June. On 4 May 2017 he was appointed bishop of Yopal.
