The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Martin Krebs, titular of Taborenta, pontifical representative in Switzerland and in the Principality of Liechtenstein, as apostolic nuncio to the Principality of Monaco.

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Portoviejo, Ecuador

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Ramiro Alejandro Herrera Herrera, of the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Guayaquil, until now vicar general of the diocese of Babahoyo, as auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Portoviejo, Ecuador, assigning him the titular see of Medeli.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Ramiro Alejandro Herrera Herrera was born on 21 October 1963 in Loja. After attending the major seminary of Guayaquil, he was ordained a priest on 2 February 1991, and incardinated in the metropolitan archdiocese of Guayaquil.

He has held the following roles: pastoral activity in various parishes of the archdiocese of Guayaquil; since 2012, ministry in the diocese of Babahoyo in the parishes of Palenque, San Juan de Pueblo Viejo and Santa Rita de Barreiro, and parish priest of the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Merced; diocesan administrator during the period of sede vacante and, until now, vicar general.
