The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Girardota, Colombia, presented by Bishop Guillermo Orozco Montoya.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Juan Manuel Toro Vallejo, of the clergy of the diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro, Colombia, until now director of the Siervos del Espíritu Santo Priestly Association, as bishop of Girardota, Colombia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Juan Manuel Toro Vallejo was born on 9 May 1959 in Medellín. He studied philosophy and theology at the Seminario Nacional Cristo Sacerdote in La Ceja, and at the Santo Tomás University in Bogotá.
He was ordained a priest on 3 November 1995 for the diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro.
After ordination, he first served as formator at the Seminario Intermisional Colombiano San Luis Beltrán in Bogotá (1996-1997) and at the Seminario Cristo Sacerdote in Yarumal (1998-1999), rector at the Colegio Mons. Alfonso Uribe Jaramillo in Rionegro (1999-2000), and formator at the Seminario Arquidiocesano San Pedro Apóstol in Cali (2001-2003). He studied spirituality with the Sulpician Fathers in Montreal, Canada (2003-2004), and went on to hold the roles of formator and then rector of the diocesan seminary of Sonsón-Rionegro (2005-2009), rector of the Seminario Intermisional Colombiano San Luis Beltrán (2010-2017), and since 2020, director of the Siervos del Espíritu Santo Priestly Association.

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Beja, Portugal, presented by Bishop José João dos Santos Marcos.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fernando Maio de Paiva, of the clergy of Setúbal, until now vicar general and parish priest of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada, as bishop of the diocese of Beja, Portugal.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Fernando Maio de Paiva was born on 26 November 1962 in Oliveira, São Pedro do Sul, district of Viseu. After studying electronic engineering, he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in theology and a licentiate in philosophy from the Universidade Católica de Lisboa, and attended a course in management of social organizations at the AESE Business School in Lisbon.
He was ordained a priest on 10 April 2005, and incardinated in the diocese of Setúbal.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada (2005), formator and bursar of the São Paulo de Almada Seminary (2005-2017), vicar forane, member of the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors and the diocesan Commission for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Persons, delegate for the formation of the clergy, chair of the Commission for the Diocesan Fund for the Clergy, and to date, vicar general and parish priest of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada in Setúbal.

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Konongo-Mampong, Ghana, presented by Bishop Joseph Osei-Bonsu.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. John Opoku-Agyemang, of the clergy of Konongo-Mampong, Ghana, until now rector of the Saint Gregory the Great Provincal Major Seminary, as bishop of the same diocese.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. John Opoku-Agyemang was born on 15 August 1957 in Kumawu, in the diocese of Konongo-Manpong. He studied philosophy at Saint Peter’s Regional Seminary in Cape Coast (1978-1980) and was subsequently awarded a diploma in clinical pastoral education (1982) and a Master of Divinity in theology (1983) from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas, and then a doctorate in pastoral theology (2001) from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
He received priestly ordination on 22 January 1984.
He has held the following offices: deputy parish priest of Saint Joseph in Esase Bontefufuo (1984-1985), parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary and chaplain of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi (1985-2009). Since 2009 he has served as rector of the Saint Gregory the Great Provincial Major Seminary of Kumasi and member of the College of Consultors and the Presbyteral Council of Konongo-Mampong (since 1995).
