Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Italy and the Republic of San Marino
The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Petar Rajič, titular of Sarsenterum, until now apostolic nuncio in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, as apostolic nuncio in Italy and the Republic of San Marino.
Resignation and appointment of bishop of Požega, Croatia
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Požega, Croatia, presented by Bishop Antun Škvorčević.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Ivo Martinović, T.O.R., until now provincial minister of the Province of Saint Jerome of the Third Regular Order of Saint Francis in Croatia, as bishop of Požega, Croatia.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Ivo Martinović, T.O.R., was born on 28 June 1965 in Županja, archdiocese of Đakovo-Osijek. After attending school in Zagreb, he carried out his studies in philosophy and theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb. He gave his first religious vows on 2 August 1987, and his solemn vows on 4 October 1990.
He was ordained a priest on 28 June 1992 in Zagreb.
After ordination, he first held the roles of parish vicar in Belišće (1992-1992), parish vicar of the Holy Family parish in Split (1993-2001), local minister of the convent and parish priest of Saint John the Baptist in Zadar (2001-2005), and local minister of the convent and parish priest of Saint Francis Xavier in Zagreb (2005-2009). He was awarded a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome (2011), and went on to serve as provincial counsellor (2011-2013), local minister of the convent, parish priest of the Holy Family parish in Split and formator of the minor seminary in the Convent of Saint Joseph in Split (2013-2017), member of the Presbyteral Council of the archdiocese of Split-Makarska (2013-2018), and director of the Commission for Permanent Formation of the Croatian Conference of Religious (2017-2020). He is currently provincial minister, for a second term, of the province of Saint Jerome of the Third Regular Order of Saint Francis in Croatia.
