The Holy Father has appointed the following as ordinary members of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences: the distinguished Professors Andrea Mia Ghez, professor of Astrophysics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of California, Los Angeles; Örjan Mikael Gustafsson, professor of Environmental Sciences at Stockholm University; Demis Hassabis, co-founder and chief executive office of Google DeepMind; Didier Patrick Queloz, professor of Physics at the University of Cambridge; Rafael Radi Isola, head of the Department of Biochemistry of the Universidad de la República in Montevideo; and Batmanathan Dayanand Reddy, professor emeritus of Appliled Mathematics at the University of Cape Town.
