“Christians Fostering Dialogue with Confucians:
Guidelines and Prospects”
Press Release
The Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, in collaboration with the Department of Religious Studies at Fu Jen Catholic University, is organizing an international workshop entitled “Christians Fostering Dialogue with Confucians: Guidelines and Prospects”, to be held on 8-9 March 2024 at Fu Jen Catholic University in New Taipei City, ROC – Taiwan.
This event is part of an ongoing initiative by the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue aimed at formulating official guidelines for Catholics engaging in dialogue with followers of Confucianism. A number of experts in Confucianism from around the world have taken part in previous online meetings, sharing their insights and expertise.
The forthcoming in-person meeting represents a significant step forward in this initiative, and provides an opportunity to share project insights with a broader audience interested in promoting Confucian-Christian dialogue.
The drafting of guidelines will be followed by a final process of revision, and is expected to serve as a valuable resource for individuals, organizations, and communities both within and beyond the Catholic Church that seek to engage in dialogue with followers of Confucianism.
