Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Papua New Guinea
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Mauro Lalli, nunciature counsellor, as apostolic nuncio in Papua New Guinea, at the same time elevating him to the titular see of Pausula, with the dignity of archbishop.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Mauro Lalli was born in Atessa, Chieti, on 17 September 1965. He was ordained a priest on 14 July 1990, and incardinated in the diocese of Chieti-Vasto.
He graduated in Utroque Iure.
He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 July 1999, and subsequently served in the Pontifical Representations in Guatemala, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Romania, Croatia, India, Iraq, Jordan and Cyprus.
He knows English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
