“STATION” IN THE BASILICA OF SANTA SABINA AT THE AVENTINE
PRESIDED OVER BY THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS

1. On the day of the beginning of Lent, a celebration will take place in the form of a Roman “Station”, presided over by the Holy Father Francis, as follows:

- At 16.30, at the Church of Saint Anselm at the Aventine, the liturgy at the “stations” will begin, followed by the penitential procession towards the Basilica of Saint Sabina.

The Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Benedictine monks of Saint Anselm, the Dominican Fathers of Saint Sabina and some of the faithful will take part in the procession.

- At the end of the procession, in the Basilica of Saint Sabina, the Eucharistic Celebration will take place, with the rite of the blessing and imposition of the ashes.

2. The Cardinals, Archbishops, Benedictine monks and Dominican Fathers who wish to participate in the celebration are required to be present at 16.00 in the Church of Saint Anselm, wearing their own choral habit.
