The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Francisco Escalante Molina, titular of Graziana, until now apostolic nuncio in Haiti, as apostolic nuncio in Japan.
Appointment of apostolic nuncio in Zimbabwe
The Holy Father has appointed Msgr. Janusz Urbańczyk, until now Holy See Permanent Representative at the International Organizations in Vienna, as apostolic nuncio in Zimbabwe, elevating him at the same time to the titular see of Voli, with the dignity of archbishop.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Janusz Urbańczyk was born in Kraszewo, Poland, on 19 May 1967. He was ordained a priest on 13 June 1992, and incardinated in the diocese of Elblag.
He graduated in canon law.
He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 July 1997, and served in the Pontifical Representations in Bolivia, Slovakia, New Zealand, Kenya and at the Organizations of the United Nations in New York. On 12 January 2015 he was appointed Holy See Permanent Representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), as well as Holy See Permanent Representative at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Office in Vienna.
He knows English, Italian, Slovakian and Spanish.
Consecration of bishop of Zhengzhou, China
Today, Thursday 25 January 2024, the Reverend Taddeo Wang Yuesheng received episcopal consecration, following his appointment by the Holy Father on 16 December 2023 as bishop of Zhengzhou, in the Chinese Province of Henan, in the framework of the Provisional Agreement between the Holy See and the People’s Republic of Cina.
Curriculum vitae
The Reverend Taddeo Wang Yuesheng was born in Zhumadian, Henan, on 27 February 1966, and attended courses in philosophy and theology at the Centre South Seminary (1987-1993). He was ordained a priest in Hankou on 17 October 1993. He has held the office of parish priest in Zhengzhou. Since December 2011 he has served as parish priest in the District of Huiji, in Zhengzhou.
