Resignation and appointment of apostolic nuncio to Paraguay

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of apostolic nuncio to Paraguay, upon reaching the age limit, presented by Archbishop Eliseo Antonio Ariotti.

The Holy Father has appointed Msgr. Vincenzo Turturro, nunciature counsellor, as apostolic nuncio to Paraguay, at the same time elevating him to the titular see of Ravello, with the dignity of archbishop.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Vincenzo Turturro was born in Bisceglie, Bari, on 7 October 1978. He was ordained a priest on 31 October 2003, and incardinated in the diocese of Molfetta. He graduated in theology. He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 July 2009, and has served in the Pontifical Representations in Zimbabwe, Nicaragua and Argentina. From the latter he was transferred to the Section for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Secretariat of State. He knows English and Spanish.
