Resignation and appointment of bishop of Litoměřice, Czech Republic

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Litoměřice, Czech Republic.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Stanislav Přibyl, C.S.s.R., secretary general of the Czech Bishops’ Conference and parish priest of Horní Police, as bishop of the diocese of Litoměřice, Czech Republic.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Stanislav Přibyl, C.S.s.R., was born on 16 November 1961 in Prague. He was awarded a licentiate in theology and a degree with the title of Master and Engineer in economics and management.

He was ordained a priest on 22 June 1996 for the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists).

He has held the following offices: chaplain of the Shrine of Our Lady in Svatá Hora (1996-1999) and subsequently parish priest of the same parish-shrine (1999-2008); provincial superior of the Redemptorist Congregation and president of archdiocesan Caritas in Prague; vicar general of the diocese of Litoměřice (2009-2016); since 2014, administrator of the parishes of Horní Police, Jezvé and Žandov; since 2016, secretary general of the Czech Bishops’ Conference; and since 2021, member of the National Team of the Synod on Synodality.

 

Appointment of Papal Resident Representative in Vietnam

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Marek Zalewski, titular of Africa and apostolic nuncio in Singapore, as Papal resident representative in Vietnam.
