Resignation and appointment of archbishop of Pamplona y Tudela, Spain
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the archdiocese of Pamplona y Tudela, Spain, presented by Archbishop Francisco Pérez González.
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Florencio Roselló Avellanas, O. de M., director of the Department of Prison Pastoral Care of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, as archbishop of Pamplona y Tudela, Spain.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Florencio Roselló Avellanas, O. de M., was born on 10 January 1962 in Alcorisa, Teruel. He carried out his studies in theology in Valencia and in Barcellona, obtaining a licentiate in ecclesiastical studies at the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià in Barcelona.
He gave his religious vows on 7 December 1985, and was ordained a priest on 24 August 1986.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Nuestra Señora del Puig, Valencia (1986); chaplain of Castellón Prison (1987-1994); chaplain of Alicante Prison and delegate for Prison Pastoral Care of the diocese of Orihuela-Alicante (1994-2003); superior of the community of Elche, Alicante (1997-2003); provincial counsellor (2000-2003); and provincial superior (2003-2015). Since 2015 he has served as superior of the Community of Castellón, chaplain of Castellón Prison and director of the Department of Prison Pastoral Care of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
