The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the archdiocese of Vaduz, Leichtenstein, presented by Bishop Wolfgang Haas.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Benno Elbs of Feldkirch as apostolic administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the same archdiocese.

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Porto Alegre, Brazil

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Odair Miguel Gonsalves dos Santos, C.M., as auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Porto Alegre, Brazil, assigning him the titular see of Cenae.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Odair Miguel Gonsalves dos Santos was born on 12 September 1965 in Irati, diocese of Ponta Grossa, in the State of Paraná. After his seminary studies in philosophy and theology, he gave his perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Mission (Lazarists) on 27 April 2000, and received priestly ordination the following 16 December.

Within his Religious Institute he has held the following roles: head of vocational animation (2000-2005); provincial counsellor (2005-2008); spiritual director of the Daughters of Charity (2010-2011); provincial assistant (2010-2013); parish priest (2010-2016); president of the Latin American Conference of the Vincentian Provinces (2017-2023); provincial visitator based in Curitia-PR for two mandates (2016-2023).
