The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Agen, France, presented by Bishop Hubert Herbreteau.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Antonio D’Angelo as coadjutor archbishop of L’Aquila, Italy, transferring him from the titular see of Cerenza and the office of auxiliary bishop of L’Aquila.
Curriculum vitae
Archbishop-elect Antonio D’Angelo was born on 2 March 1971 in Castelmauro (CB) in the diocese of Termoli-Larino. He entered the Saint Pius X Pontifical Regional Seminary in Chieti, and received a bachelor’s degree in theology. He was ordained a priest on 14 September 1996.
He was subsequently awarded a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, and a diploma from the Higher Institute for Formators of the Pontifical Gregorian University.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar (1996) and parish priest (1999) of San Giovanni Battista in Colletorto; director of diocesan Caritas (2005-2007); canon of the Basilica Co-cathedral in Larino (2005); vice-rector of the Saint Pius X Pontifical Regional Seminary in Chieti (2007); director of the diocesan Office of Vocational Pastoral Care (2007-2021); member of the Presbyteral Council (2008-2021); bursar of the Regional Seminary (2010); rector of the Saint Pius X Pontifical Regional Seminary in Chieti (2016); and since 2018, member of the Italian Presbyteral Commission of the Italian Episcopal Conference (C.E.I.).
He was elected to the titular see of Cerenza on 14 August 2021, and received episcopal consecration the following 12 September.
Within the Episcopal Conference of Abruzzo and Molise, he is bishop delegate for the Laity and for Missionary Cooperation between Churches.
