Appointment of bishop of Coutances, France

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Msgr. Grégoire Cador, of the clergy of the diocese of Le Mans, until now vicar general, as bishop of Coutances, France.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Grégoire Cador was born on 11 March 1961 in Solesmes, in the diocese of Le Mans. After work experience in the family business, he entered the seminary in 1980 and was ordained a priest on 26 June 1988, incardinated in the diocese of Le Mans.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of La fleche (1988-1992); fidei donum priest in the diocese of Maroua-Mokolo, Cameroon; parish priest of Allonnes-Arnages and diocesan representative for the pastoral care of migrants (2016-2020); vicar general of Le Mans (2020-2022); and diocesan administrator during the sede vacante (2022-2023).

The new bishop of Le Mans reconfirmed him as vicar general.
