Resignation of bishop of Jullundur, India

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Jullundur, India, presented by Bishop Franco Mulakkal.

 

Appointment of bishop of Cuneo-Fossano, Italy, and union in persona Episcopi of the dioceses of Cuneo and Fossano

The Holy Father has joined the dioceses of Cuneo and Fossano, Italy, and has appointed Bishop Piero Delbosco, hitherto bishop of the two dioceses united in persona Episcopi, as bishop of the new diocese of Cuneo-Fossano.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Piero Delbosco was born on 15 August 1955 in Poirino, in the province and archdiocese of Turin.

He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in theology from the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy – Turin Section, and was ordained a priest on 15 November 1980 for the archdiocese of Turin.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of San Lorenzo in Collegno, Turin, and of the parish Natività della Beata Vergine Maria in Turin; parish priest in Beinasco and Alpignano; territorial episcopal vicar of the West District of Turin; pro-vicar general and moderator of the archepiscopal Curia of Turin; parish priest in Poirino; delegate for the permanent diaconate and for preparation for the diaconate; member of the Presbyteral Council; member of the National Presbyteral Council.

On 9 October 2015, he was appointed as bishop of the diocese of Cuneo and Fossano, and received episcopal consecration the following 29 November.

Within the Italian Episcopal Council, he is a member of the Commission for the Clergy and Consecrated Life.
