Farewell ceremony from Hungary at Ferenc Liszt International Airport of Budapest
At the end of the meeting with the academic and cultural world at Péter Pázmány Catholic University, the Holy Father Francis transferred to Ferenc Liszt International Airport of Budapest for the farewell ceremony from Hungary.
Upon arrival, the Pope was received by the President of the Republic, Her Excellency Ms. Katalin Novák, at the foot of the aircraft steps. Then, after the greeting of the respective delegations and the local entourage, Pope Francis boarded an A320 neo/ITA Airways aircraft for his return journey to Italy.
The aircraft carrying the Holy Father on the return trip of his Apostolic Journey in Hungary departed from Ferenc Liszt Budapest International Airport at 18.08, and landed at Leonardo da Vinci Rome-Fiumicino Airport at 19.25.

Immediately after departing by air from Budapest, the Holy Father Francis sent the following telegram to the President of the Republic, Her Excellency Ms. Katalin Novák:
