This morning, Pope Francis began his 41st International Apostolic Journey, this time to Hungary.
Before leaving Santa Marta, the Holy Father received greetings from fifteen homeless people who live around Saint Peter’s, accompanied by the Prefect for Charity, His Eminence Cardinal Konrad Krajewski.
He then transferred by car to Rome-Fiumicino International Airport from where, at 8.21, he departed on board an A320 neo/ITA Airways aircraft bound for Budapest.
The aircraft carrying the Holy Father landed at Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest at 9.53.

As he left Italy, the Holy Father Francis sent the following telegram to the President of the Italian Republic, the Honorable Sergio Mattarella:

PRESIDENT, AND ALL ITALIANS, WHICH I ACCOMPANY WITH FERVENT PRAYERS FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION.

During the flight to Budapest, as the aircraft passed through Croatian airspace, the Holy Father Francis sent the following telegram to the President, His Excellency Mr. Zoran Milanović:
