The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Paul Connell, of the clergy of the diocese of Meath, until now diocesan chancellor and parish priest of Multyfarnham, as bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois, Ireland.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Paul Connell was born on 27 January in Mullingar, in the diocese of Meath, Ireland. After studying philosophy and theology at Maynooth Seminary, he was awarded a doctorate in history from Maynooth University of Ireland.
He was ordained a priest on 20 June 1982, for the diocese of Meath.
He has held the following offices: teacher (1982-1989), deputy head teacher (1989), head teacher and dean (1998) of the diocesan Saint Finian College; president of the General Association of Secondary Schools in Ireland (AMCSS/JMB) (2012-2018).
Since 2019 he has been executive secretary of the Council for Education and executive secretary of the Commission for Catholic Education and for Formation, within the episcopal conference.
Since 2020 he has served as diocesan chancellor and parish priest of Multyfarnham.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Vincenzo Calvosa, of the clergy of the diocese of Cassano all’Jonio, until now parish priest, diocesan bursar and vicar for the economy, as bishop of Vallo della Lucania, Italy.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Vincenzo Calvosa was born on 31 January 1964 in Laino Borgo (CS), in the diocese of Cassano all'Jonio. After attending the San Pio X Pontifical Regional Theological Seminary in Catanzaro, he obtained a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Theological Faculty of Southern Italy in Naples.
He was ordained a priest on 2 May 1992 for the diocese of Cassano all’Jonio.
He has held the following offices: parish priest of San Nicola di Bari in Nocara and parish viar of the parish Assunzione della Beata Vergine Maria in Rocca Imperiale (1992-2001); director of the diocesan office for vocational pastoral care (1996); member of the diocesan Presbyteral Council (2001); parish priest of San Giacomo Apostolo in Altomonte (2001-2014); director of the Sports and Leisure Time Office (2006); member of the diocesan Council for Economic Affairs and the diocesan Administrative Office (2012); Parish Priest of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Trebisacce (2014); diocesan bursar, director of the diocesan Technical Office and vicar for the Economy (2016); and member of the diocesan Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors (2017).
