The HolyFather has appointed the Reverend Don Mauro Mantovani, S.D.B., until now dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome, Italy, as prefect of the Vatican Apostolic Library.
Curriculum vitae
Don Mantovani was born on 3 January 1966 in Moncalieri, Italy. In 1986 he gave his first vows in the Salesian Society of Saint John Bosco an in 1994 he was ordained a priest. In 2006 he was awarded a doctorate in philosophy and letters from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, Spain, and in 2011, a doctorate in Thomistic theology at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas – Angelicum in Rome. Since 2007 he has served as full professor at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, where he has held the following offices: dean of the Faculty of Philosophy; dean of the Faculty of Social Communication Sciences; vice rector; and Magnificent rector. He is currently member of the Pontifical Academy of Saint Thomas Aquinas, and of the Scientific Committee of the Holy See Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties (AVEPRO).
Appointment of bishop of Menorca, Spain
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Gerardo Villalonga Hellín, of the clergy of Menorca, former vicar general and diocesan administrator, as bishop of Menorca, Spain.

Msgr. Gerardo Villalonga Hellín was born on 29 April 1958 in Mahón, Menorca. He was ordained a priest on 20 June 1987 for the diocese of Menorca.
He was awarded a licentiate in canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of San Francisco in Ciutadella de Menorca and delegate for teaching (1987-1990); parish priest of Nuestra Señora del Rosario of Es Castells (1993-2005); judicial vicar (1993-2013); parish priest of the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and of San Francisco (2005-2016); vicar general (2011-2015); diocesan administrator (2015-2017); parish priest of San Martín in Es Mercadal (2016-2018); since 2005, canon and dean of the Cathedral chapter and vicar general (2017-2021); since 2017, judicial vicar and, since 2018, parish priest of San Francisco de Asís of Ciutadella de Menorca.
Since 2022 he has again served as diocesan administrator.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend David Abadías Aurín, of the clergy of the diocese of Terrassa, parish priest and professor at the Facultat de Teologia de Catalunya, as titular bishop of Urci and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Barcelona, Spain.

Msgr. David Abadías Aurín was born on 31 July 1973 in Barcelona, Spain.
He was ordained a priest on 13 December 1998 for the archdiocese of Barcelona, and was incardinated in the diocese of Terrassa, once erected, on 15 June 2004.
He was awarded a degree in theology, a specialization in sacred scripture at the Facultat de Teologia de Catalunya and a doctorate in Church history at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
He has held the following roles: parish vicar of Sant Esteve de Granollers; episcopal delegate for catechesis and parish priest of San Juan Bautista in Matadepera; professor of Medieval Church history in the Facultat de Teologia de Catalunya and head of the History Section and the Publications Office of the same Faculty.
He is currently parish priest of San Vicente in Mollet des Vallés and of San Juan in Matadepera, as well as dean of Mollet des Vallés.

The Holy Father has appointed the following as auxiliary bishops of the metropolitan archdiocese of Accra, Ghana: the Reverend John Kobina Louis, of the clery of Accra, vicar general of the archdiocese of Accra, assigning him the titular see of Fesseë, and the Reverend Anthony Narh Asare, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, until now parish priest of Saints Anne and Joachim in Teshie, assigning him the titular see of Castellum in Numidia.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. John Kobina Louis
Msgr. John Kobina Louis was born on 24 November 1964 in Accra. He completed his studies in philosophy and theology at the Saint Peter Major Seminary in Pedu.
He was ordained a priest on 18 July for the clergy of Accra.
Following ordination, he first held the offices of parish vicar of Our Lady of Mercy, Tema (1992-1995); parish administrator of Saint Joseph the Worker, Tema (1995-1998); parish priest of Saint Joseph the Worker, Tema (1998-2002). After studying for a licentiate in religious studies and sociology at the Catholic University College of Ghana (1998-1991), he served as bursar of the archdiocese of Accra (1996-2002) and director of the Pastoral Centre (1997-2002). He was then awarded a licentiate in dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Urban University, Rome (2002-2004) and went on to serve as parish vicar of the Holy Spirit Cathedral (2004-2006); administrator of the Holy Spirit Cathedral (2006-2012); president of the National Union of Ghanese Diocesan Priests Association (NUGDPA) (2007-2011); academic dean and lecturer of the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT) (2014-2020); acting president of the CIBT (2017-2018) and, since 2019, vicar general of the archdiocese of Accra.

Msgr. Anthony Narh Asare was born on 29 September 1965 in Odumase-Krobo, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. After attending the Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary in Koforidua, he completed his studies in philosophy at Saint Paul’s Seminary in Sowutuom and in theology at Saint Paul’s Seminary in Pedu.
He was ordained a priest on 22 July 1995 for the clergy of Accra.
Following ordination, he first served as parish vicar of Martyrs of Uganda, in Mambrobi (1995-1997); head of the Sacred Heart in Derby Avenue (1997-1999); parish vicar of Saint Peter’s in Osu (1995-2005); bursar of the archdiocese of Accra (2002-2008); and parish vicar of Saint Maroun’s in Tema (2005-2008). He then studied at All Hallow’s College in Dublin, Ireland, where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in management, a Master of Arts in leadership and pastoral care, and a Master of Arts in Supervisory Practice (2008-2012). He went on to serve as parish priest of Saint Joseph the Worker in Tema (2013-2019); and since 2019, parish priest of Saints Anne and Joachim in Teshie and head of priestly personnel.
