From 25 to 27 January 2023, the International Conference Women Building a Culture of Encounter Interreligiously, promoted by the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, in collaboration with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations (UMOFC), will be held at the Pontifical Urbanian University in Rome.

The event, on the one hand, aims to listen to interreligious initiatives from different contexts and, on the other, to develop a global network of religious traditions and spiritualities that, through the promotion of a “culture of encounter” as well as of their own dignity and equality, can work together in solidarity for a growing re-humanization of society through friendship, dialogue and cooperation.

“To speak of a ‘culture of encounter’ means that we, as a people, should be passionate about meeting others, seeking points of contact, building bridges, planning a project that includes everyone. This becomes an aspiration and a style of life” (Pope Francis, Encyclical Letter Fratelli tutti, 216).
