Resignation and appointment of metropolitan archbishop of Alger, Algeria

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the metropolitan archdiocese of Alger, Algeria, presented by Archbishop Paul Desfarges, S.J.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Jean-Paul Vesco, O.P., of Oran, as metropolitan archbishop of the same see.
