Appointment of bishop of Troyes, France

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Alexandre Joly, until now titular of Privata and auxiliary of Rennes, as bishop of Troyes.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Alexandre Joly was born on 9 October 1971 in Saint-Malo, in the metropolitan archdiocese of Rennes.

He was ordained a priest on 28 June 1997, and incarnated in the metropolitan archdiocese of Rouen. On 14 December 2018 he was appointed as titular bishop of Privata and auxiliary of Rennes.

In addition, he is national coordinator for the preparation of the Synod of Bishops on synodality.

Appointment of members of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples

The Holy Father has appointed the following as members of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples: Archbishop Arthur Roche, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments; and Archbishop Lazarus You Heung-sik, prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy.
