The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the metropolitan archdiocese of Paris, France, presented by Archbishop Michel Aupetit, and has at the same time appointed Archbishop Georges Pontier as apostolic administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the same archdiocese.

The Holy Father has appointed as members of the Dicastery for Communication His Eminence Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, O.F.M. Conv., archpriest of the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican; Archbishop Jorge Eduardo Lozano of San Juan de Cuyo, secretary general of the Latin American Episcopal Council (C.E.L.A.M.), Archbishop Borys Gudziak of Philadelphia of the Ukrainians; Bishop Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo of Oyo; and the Reverend Sr. Nathalie Becquart, X.M.C.J., under-secretary of the Synod of Bishops.
